WAFF reported that investigators have confirmed that the two had a relationship while Casey White was in custody.

Vicky White and Casey White have been missing since April 29.

Vicky White had transported Casey White from the Florence, Alabama, jail Friday morning. They have not been seen since, but the vehicle they drove from the jail was found in a shopping center parking lot.

“We consider both of them dangerous and, in all probability, both individuals are armed,” U.S. Marshal Marty Keely said at a news conference Monday, The Associated Press reported.

Keely said the inmate “will stand out” even if he has changed his appearance. Casey White is 6 feet, 9 inches tall and about 260 pounds, the AP reported.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Vicky White on charges of permitting or allowing an escape.

She had told staff that she was taking Casey White to the courthouse for a mental health evaluation. But Lauderdale County Sheriff Rick Singleton said no evaluation was scheduled.

Singleton also said Vicky White violated a policy that required more than one officer to transport inmates. The rule came about after Casey White had tried to escape in the past, the AP reported.

Casey White was already serving a 75-year sentence but was also awaiting trial on a capital murder charge, the AP reported.

Vicky White’s co-workers said they are devastated and are trying to figure out how someone who was ready to retire with “an unblemished record” is now has a warrant out for her arrest, CNN reported.

Vicky White had submitted her retirement papers and her last day was supposed to be the day she disappeared.

She had sold her home and had been living with her mother, Pat Davis, for the past five weeks. Davis said her daughter never told her about retiring or made any mention of Casey White, WAAY reported.
