McGregor, 34, who was a featherweight and lightweight champion in the Ultimate Fighting Championship promotion, was accused by an Irish woman who claimed that he punched her and threatened to drown her during a party last July on his boat, ESPN reported.

McGregor has denied the allegations.

“Mr. McGregor is steadfast in his denial of all the accusations made by a guest on his boat,” McGregor spokesperson Karen Kessler told ESPN in a statement.

The allegations were first reported by Ultima Hora, a newspaper in Spain, according to ESPN.

The newspaper reported that the unnamed woman told police that she met McGregor at a club in Ibiza in July , People reported. McGregor allegedly invited the woman to the VIP area and then onto his yacht, along with his girlfriend and other friends, according to the magazine.

The woman alleges that the next morning, McGregor punched her in the stomach and chin and threatened to drown her, People reported. The woman told police that she jumped into the water to escape him, after which a Red Cross boat rescued her, Ultima Hora reported.

The woman initially told police after the incident that it was not McGregor but another man who attacked her, Spanish media outlets reported last summer.

However, a judge in Spain ordered the case to be reopened after receiving more details about the alleged incident, The Associated Press reported.

The court in Spain has not provided any other details about the case, ESPN reported.

Ibiza is a Spanish island in the Mediterranean Sea off the eastern coast of Spain.
