Body of missing Wyoming toddler found in dumpster, police say

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Police in Wyoming have found a missing 2-year-old boy dead in a Cheyenne dumpster, authorities said.

According to the Wyoming Tribune Eagle, the news came hours after the toddler, Athian Rivera, was reported missing about 1 p.m. Friday. Cheyenne police, as well as a K-9 unit and crews from other local and state agencies, began searching for the child on Desmet Drive, where he was last seen, the newspaper reported. Authorities found the body in a dumpster on the same street, officials said.

Police said the investigation into the child’s death is ongoing, according to the Casper Star-Tribune.
