David Lee Roth Has Become An Artist, I think.

I don’t ever want to talk trash about anyone creating any kind of art they want. In fact I encourage it! I think people making whatever kind of art is in their heads is always a good thing. If not for the world, at least for that person.

So when I heard David Lee Roth has broadened his creativity into the art world I wanted to see what it was all about.

I don’t get it.

He’s not a bad artist by any means. Hell he’s better than me by a country mile. But his painting, or collages, or whatever they may be, are to me at least, confusing.

Let’s look at some together and see if we can figure it out. This is the one he did for, or about, Sammy Hagar. Now to be honest it feels like a diss somehow, but its so confusing that I can’t tell if DLR is being insulting to Sammy, supportive of Sammy, or maybe even Dave himself doesn’t know.

Then there’s this one from Thanksgiving.

Here’s one about Las Vegas and ocean front property, I guess a statement about climate change?

Here’s a Halloween one. Or is it a vaccine one?

Well despite the fact that I personally don’t get much of it, I say good for you Dave! Go crazy with your artsy fartsy self. And I would like to say I appreciate the tribute he did for Eddie. This one I get. Also if you play the video clip its a part of his song, “Somewhere Over The Rainbow Bar And Grill”. I included the video to his full song below. It’s really pretty good.

And here’s a story about Dave’s artistic take on covid-19.
