2021 Lifetime Achievement Grammy (Talking Heads (Facebook))

The Recording Academy has announced that Talking Heads will receive the Lifetime Achievement Grammy in 2021 along with Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five, Selena, Salt-N-Pepa, opera singer Marilyn Horne, and late jazz legend Lionel Hampton.

Talking Heads are deserving of the honor, but interestingly, never won a Grammy during their career. They were nominated for “Burning Down The House” in 1984.

The 2021 Grammy Awards will be held Sunday, January 31st with “The Daily Show” host, Trevor Noah emceeing the festivities. The big question is where will the Grammys be held? In a recent statement the Academy noted “Given the challenges imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, more details about the special award presentation event will be announced at a later date.”

More details to come.
