I recently posted about Henry Winkler putting a ton of Fonzie memorabilia up for auction, including The Fonz’s original 1949 Triumph motorcycle. Fonzie rode a Triumph instead of a Harley because Henry Winkler had difficulty riding a Harley in real life, so the TV production opted for a lighter, easier to manage Triumph for the actor. the bike went up for auction at the Bonham’s auction along with original Fonzie costumes and a ton of other stuff. Richard apparently paid $231,000 for the bike. One other cool thing in this video is when they’re unloading the Fonzie bike from the transport, inside the truck is another famous motorcycle bought at the same auction, Prince’s Purple Rain motorcycle. And they knew it was actually his because it had real training wheels since Prince couldn’t ride a motorcycle in real life.
