Netflix Is Making A ‘Florida Man’ Series

Flamingos on Parade in Miami BEACH, FL -JUNE 19: One of a flock of eight-foot fiberglass flamingos sits on display June 19, 2002 in South Beach, Florida. Miami Beach's public art project will showcase jazzed-up fiberglass flamingos from mid-June through October. The individual birds shall perch proudly at various outdoor locations similar to pigs in Cincinnati, fish in New Orleans, cows in New York and Chicago. So far about 60 individuals and corporations have paid the $2000 fee to sponsor a flamingo. (Photo by Joe Raedle/Getty Images) (Joe Raedle/Getty Images)

Jason Bateman’s production company Aggregate Films will drop an entire series about our beautiful state’s favorite ne’er-do-wells, the iconic Florida Man! Ok its actually not about our interesting neighbors, but about 1 singular Florida Man. Florida Man is the story of the fictional Mike Valentine played by Edgar Ramírez, who is a recovering gambling addict. Valentine returns to his home state of Florida when a mob boss he is indebted to sends him there to find the mobster’s missing girlfriend. According to the Netflix synopsis of the show Valentine then goes on to find himself in situations that would put most of the Florida Man characters to shame, although I’m curious to see how their fiction can beat our reality.

I’m a huge fan of Jason Bateman’s so I hope this show is as good as it could be...we’ll see when it’s released April 13th. My favorite part will be trying to see how many film locations I can recognize without looking them up lol.
