Cheap Trick guitarist Rick Nielsen, 77, experienced a mid-concert health scare on Thursday night, September 10, 2026, when he had trouble breathing during a performance at RiverEdge Park in Aurora, Illinois. He briefly left the stage, later returned to finish the set while sitting in a chair, and subsequent band appearances were adjusted with Robin Taylor Zander (Robin’s son) filling in on guitar.
