A renowned Spanish bullfighter was gored by a bull during a performance Thursday at the El Puerto de Santa Maria arena.

Video shows a bull ram its horns into Enrique Ponce, 48, sending him into the air during an event to celebrate the Cadiz bullring’s 140th anniversary, the Independent reported.

Instead of going in for the kill, Ponce was flipped to the ground where he shielded his head from the attack. Ponce was not seriously injured. He suffered bruises and torn knee ligaments.

The bull was eventually killed. Ponce also killed a second bull.

This is not Ponce's first brush with a bull.

Last year, he was tossed into the air and pushed to the ground by a bull during a fight. He suffered cuts to his buttock and damage to his left knee.

In 2014, he was also injured by a bull that broke his collarbone and several ribs.
