Teco’s Manatee Viewing Center Is Closed Until November

Apparently its been closed all season.

Every year during the winter months, like many Florida families, we like to go see the manatees when they make their return to Florida’s coasts. One of the most popular places to get a really good close look at them is at Teco’s Manatee Viewing Center in Apollo Beach. But not this year. It is apparently closed and has been all season. There are signs at the gates that say they will re-open November 1st, 2021.

That’s fine and all but when I Googled it, the map showed the boardwalk closed, but not the whole place. And it still does. See?

I mean if Google doesn’t know something, how am I supposed to know it? Google is supposed to know everything! It shows the boardwalk closed but not the center. I thought maybe they just closed the boardwalk because its harder to social distance on it, but apparently even Google didn’t know they closed the joint for the whole season. So don’t plan on seeing manatees here until November. Just wanted to save you however much gas it takes you to drive there, because you can’t go.

So until November just enjoy a video of the center, and feel free to travel to other springs and rivers where the manatees go to play.
