Richard Williams is an original member of one of the longest running, recording, and touring bands in the world, Kansas. He’s been there since the first album and he’s still going strong. He was kind enough to call in to the studios ahead of their upcoming tour stop on the 8th at Ruth Eckerd Hall. Since Covid he and the other band members have had to resort to rehearsing with their live albums at home instead of together at the same time. So when we see them live, it will be one of the first times these guys have played together in person in months. But with a band that has played live for over 4 decades, I’m sure its like riding a bike by now.
Richard also has some advise for upcoming musicians about guitars and why you should never trade one in to buy another. Check out my full interview below. It looks like a video but its just audio so you can put it on and listen while you still do other things, like work, or ignoring the boss and playing solitaire, if you need to.
Here’s the full interview, and below this I added the video for their 1976 song The Wall from the upcoming live album.

When asked about the upcoming live album, drummer and original band member Phil Ehart said:
“We knew we wanted to release a live album of the Point of Know Return Anniversary Tour, being unable to tour for more than a year has given us the opportunity to work on Point of Know Return Live & Beyond and release it for our fans who are missing live concerts as much as we are.”
