Orlando OK’s Electric Sky Taxis, And Virgin Tests Their Hyperloop With Humans

We may soon see electric jets flying overhead like we’re in the future or something.

Many of us have wondered, “what happened to the flying cars we were supposed to have by now?” Well it looks like they may have just arrived, in Orlando. Specifically from Lake Nona, just to the southwest of Orlando, and back as a commuter line. A German company Lilium got a contract with the city to have a hub and electric flying taxis ready by 2025! If this happens this could be the coolest thing in a generation! Check out Lilium’s flying taxis in action.

And if that wasn’t enough future tech for you, Virgin just tested their hyperloop with human passengers, taking a huge step towards seeing real hyperloops in a few years. Of course when they hyperloop is said to be able to reach speeds of over 700 mph, it will still be awhile until its ready for public consumption. But at least parts of Florida are also looking to build high speed rail across our beautiful state, to make day trips to other parts possible. Here’s the Virgin Hyperloop test, reaching over 100 mph in just about 6 seconds. Because its a vacuum like space so there’s no friction, the actual speeds could be astronomical.

Just think of how far we’ve come from this:
