The Tall Ship Festival In St Pete Has Some Pretty Tall Ships.

As the name implies the Tall Ship Festival in St. Pete was full of tall ships. Some old, some reproductions of old ships. But all of them are a cool step into history to see how people travelled the globe and did international trade a way long time ago. This year the festival included the ships Pride Of Baltimore II, NAO Trinidad, Ernestina-Morrissey, 1877 Barque Elissa (my fave because it was the original 1877 ship), and 3 sail away ships which I didn’t go on.

The Trinidad was a very cool reproduction of a 1500′s era vessel that was originally sailed by Ferdinand Magellan until his death in 1521.

And the 1877 Barque Elissa was the only original ship there, but it was almost 150 years old, and in amazing shape! Plus it had that historic wood smell like old buildings do.
