The grocery store at Linda Tutt High School was created in an empty room at the school with help from Texas Health, Albertsons grocery store and First Refuge Ministries, KTVT reported.

“How often can a school say they have a grocery store inside their walls?” said principal Anthony Love. “A lot of our students, they come from low socioeconomic families. It’s a way for students to earn the ability to shop for their families.”

The store does not accept cash. Students use a point system and redeem them for items in the store. Students can earn points through positive office referrals and helping clean up around the classrooms and campus.

The store inside Linda Tutt High in Sanger, Texas doesn’t accept money, just good deeds.
