For the first time, brothers will be playing against each other in the Super Bowl. Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, 33, an eight-time Pro Bowl selection, will be playing in his third Super Bowl in four years.

His older brother, Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, 35, has been named to the Pro Bowl six times and is playing in his second Super Bowl.

Both will be playing when the Chiefs and Eagles meet on Feb. 12 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. It is the first time brothers are competing against each other as players on the field in the NFL’s marquee game.

Amber Smith started a Change.org petition, hoping to get Donna Kelce, the mother of the two players, invited to participate in the honorary coin toss before the game, KCTV reported.

As of early Thursday, more than 11,400 people have signed the petition, according to Change.org.

“What a great way to show the Super Proud mama some amazing appreciation and love while giving her a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” the petition reads.

The Super Bowl has featured brothers on opposing sidelines once before, Sports Illustrated reported. In Super Bowl XLVII, Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh beat the San Francisco 49ers, coached by his brother, Jim Harbaugh, 34-31, in New Orleans on Feb. 3, 2013.

Travis Kelce said her mother was enjoying a “cool scenario” with both of her sons playing in the big game.

“My mom can’t lose,” the tight end told reporters after the Chiefs edged the Cincinnati Bengals in Sunday’s AFC Championship game. “‘ll just leave it at that.”

“I’m a true fan of football. This is going to be so awesome,” Donna Kelce said on “Today” during its Wednesday broadcast, sporting a combination Chiefs-Eagles jersey. “I’ll just be so elated. Probably some tears. And it’ll just be a very, very emotional moment.”

The brothers have played against each other in the NFL during the regular season, with the Chiefs winning 42-30 during Week 4 of the 2021 season.

But the Super Bowl is special, and that puts Donna Kelce in a predicament. Who to root for?

She already has an answer.

“Absolutely, the offense,” she told “Today.” “I think that Jason would say I am going to root for the baby of the family, which is Travis. And I keep trying to tell him, ‘No, you’ve given me grandchildren,’ so we’ll leave it at that.”
