The Altamonte Springs Police Department said that on Tuesday before 9 a.m., officers conducted a wellness check at an apartment. When officers arrived at the apartment along with the Seminole County Fire Department, Nhu Quynh Pham was found dead.

Police said that her husband, Xichen Yang, 21, was not at home when they arrived but was later taken into custody for questioning.

According to WFTV, Yang and Pham were married for less than a year, and that he allegedly killed his wife during an argument. Police said he attempted to clean up the scene before he left the area.

Yang allegedly told investigators that he held her hand and played her favorite music as she died, according to WFTV.

Yang has been booked on recommended charges of first-degree premeditated murder and tampering with physical evidence, according to police. No further information has been released.
