Police: 1 dead, 1 injured in shooting during Miami spring break

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — A midnight curfew has been imposed after shooting erupted at a popular Miami spring break destination Friday, killing one person and injuring another.

Miami Beach Police said officers heard gunshots just before 11 p.m. near 7 Street and Ocean Drive. Officers found two men with gunshot wounds. Both were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Police said one of the men died at the hospital and the other is in critical condition. He is cooperating with investigators, and four guns were recovered from the scene. His name has not been released.

The shooting happened on South Beach’s Ocean Drive, which is where hundreds of people come for spring break, according to The Associated Press. The identities of the victims have not yet been released.

The shooting is the second one in the last few years during spring break. According to the AP, Miami Beach imposed a curfew at midnight after two shootings in the same area.
