Volusia Beaches shared photos with WFTV’s Mike Springer, which show objects sticking out of the sand on Daytona Beach Shores.

The photos show pieces of what appear to be wood sticking up out of the sand in even intervals, spaced along two parallel lines.

Volusia County officials told WFTV that the debris was spotted poking up through the sand and will undergo testing to determine what it is.

Florida officials estimated that Hurricane Nicole caused more than $522 million in damage across Volusia County, The Associated Press reported.
