HOUSTON — A man in Texas has been sentenced to life in prison for the rape and beating of an 86-year-old grandmother during a home invasion in 2020.
KTRK says Jack Flynn Carlin II, 55, was convicted of raping the woman at her Houston home in February 2020.
The attack happened around 7 a.m. KTRK says Carlin knocked at her door and she refused to let him in. He went to the back of the house and found a way in through a sliding glass door. The woman survived her attack and testified, stating that she was fearful that he was going to kill her, according to KTRK.
KHOU says when Carlin was resting during the attack, the woman’s granddaughter called and she was able to tell her what was happening. She called the Houston police for her grandmother. Police found Carlin naked and in the woman’s bedroom following the attack.
Carlin has been convicted of sexual assault of the elderly and received life in prison, according to KHOU.
