Couple married 46 years overcomes cancer, coronavirus

A Texas couple married 46 years has overcome the coronavirus and cancer.

Robert and Janice Beecham followed safety protocols but started to feel symptoms of the coronavirus in May, CNN reported

He tested positive for the virus and started working on a plan for recovery with his doctor. He was home in time for their April 15 anniversary.

“Once I got home, and we did the quarantine, I was getting progressively better but Janice still had issues with her health,” Robert said.

Janice was recovering from surgery she had in February when she tested positive. She was battling breast cancer for the second time as well as ovarian cancer at the time. But because of her coronavirus diagnosis she was unable to start chemotherapy treatments.

She was recently declared cancer free.

"It's a blessing to be here because a lot of people didn't make it," Janice Beecham said.

The couple said they are blessed.

“It would have been impossible to make it with all the odds against you without God, and he has been our help, all these many years,” Robert Beecham said.
