Boy, 10, in serious condition after accidental shooting in Texas, police say

SAN ANTONIO — A 10-year-old boy was seriously hurt in an accidental shooting in Texas, authorities said.

According to WOAI-TV, the incident occurred shortly before 10 p.m. Monday at an apartment complex on Hamilton Avenue in San Antonio. San Antonio police believe that the child, who suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen, accidentally shot himself, the news outlet reported.

The boy was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he remains in serious condition, WOAI reported.

Police said they are interviewing a 15-year-old person of interest in the case, according to KENS.
