Coast Guard Great Lakes said an ice rescue team as well as crews from other agencies responded around 3:30 p.m. to Edgewater Park, WEWS reported.

A helicopter was also sent for support.

Seven adults and three children were rescued from the two ice floes. The Coast Guard rescued six people using an ice skiff and the fire department helped four others from the ice. No injuries were reported and they all denied medical treatment.

The Coast Guard said the ice was connected to land but had broken off while the group was on it.

The National Weather Service issued an advisory Saturday to stay off the ice on Lake Erie. Because of the increased wind, ice that has formed close to shore could break off and leave people on it stranded.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
