The Super Bowl Streaker Might Have Bet A Lot Of Money That Someone Would Streak The Super Bowl

I saw this in a Facebook group I’m a member of, and don’t know the person who posted it at all so don’t hold this as absolute truth yet, because I haven’t verified it yet.

Supposedly the streaker during the game, who has been positively identified as 31 year old Yuri Andrade of Boca Raton, had placed a bet worth $50,000 with +750 odds that there would be a streaker at the Super Bowl. Then he made his own bet hit, and hit big! Its reported he could walk away with almost $400k!

Check out the Facebook post I saw.

Now I don’t normally trust any old social media post, because that’s stupid. However when I went to look into the details of this story I haven’t found anything to prove it wrong yet. That doesn’t make it true by any means, but so far the story is holding up, and makes a much better story than just a streaker at the game. Even Snopes.com says the claim is unproven, but not false yet.

Of course Vegas pros are saying that no sports book would take a bet like that, possibly because someone could just rush the field and make it come true. But again, that doesn’t prove it false, yet.

Now here’s where it could get sticky. The streaker was released from jail on a $500 bond. Which means if its true he could clear an insane amount of money for a small fine and a misdemeanor charge. I’d probably risk that too, if my record could take another hit. But if his judge finds out about the bet and tries to make an example of the guy, he could fine him whatever the maximum is and really eat into a chunk of those winnings. That is of course if the judge has that discretion, and isn’t bound by state fine limits.

I’ll keep looking into this to see how it plays out. But for now its a fun story, and maybe its true. We’ll see.
