We Visit Jacksonville To Remember Members Of Lynyrd Skynyrd On The Anniversary Of The Tragic Crash

43 years after the tragic plane crash that took the lives of 3 of the members of Lynyrd Skynyrd, we visit their final resting places on the anniversary of this sad event.

October 20th 1977 Lynyrd Skynyrd’s plane crashed.

Ronnie Van Zant, the band’s singer and principle song writer lost his life.

Also passing that day were guitarist and some time singer Steve Gaines along with Cassie Gaines.

Cassie was Steve’s sister and a member of the band’s backing vocalists known as the Honkettes.

On the anniversary of this tragic event we visited Jacksonville, Florida and the final resting places of Ronnie, Steve and Cassie to pay our respects.

They may be gone, but the music lives forever.
