Join the St. Petersburg Museum of History October 19th, 2013 for the Beer Brats and Baseball field day on the landmark Al Lang Field. This family field day is in celebration of the opening of Schrader’s Little Cooperstown exhibit. The event promotes the same values as baseball: good sportsmanship, healthy competition, and of course FUN. The festivities will include live local music throughout the event. Carnival games and activities will keep the whole family excited. Men, women and children will have baseball competitions including fastest pitch, homerun batting, and a dunk tank. For the adults we will have a beer garden featuring a variety of local, domestic, international and craft beers. Admission to the event will include a coupon good for half price admission to see Schrader’s Little Cooperstown. The exhibit will open on Tuesday and the museum will be open an hour later, till 6pm, the entire week to allow for additional viewings. Let baseball tell you a story today. This event is the “first pitch” of the Museum of History’s week of Baseball! The week will continue on Tuesday the 22nd with a sneak peak breakfast and ribbon cutting for the exhibit. Tuesday night will feature a special “Happy Hour with the Historian” with Peter Gollenback telling stories of baseball and spring training in Florida. The week will culminate in a grand Gala at the Mirror Lake Lyceum on Friday October 25th.
