Observation Tournament the following day.
Preregistration opens on 06/27/2013.
Preregistration closes on 09/20/2013.
What's that? You don't want to ref? You should still do this clinic!
Why should you do a ref clinic? It makes you a better fencer! You develop the skills to know what to watch for, and with a better understanding of rules and violations, you learn what to do and what not to do.
The typical process to getting certified:
1) Attend a clinic with a FOC host (ours is Mary Mahon).
2) Get observed by FOC at a tournament (next day for us!)
3) Take your online test (http://www.fencingofficials.org/blog/become-a-ref/)
We are requiring prepayment for this clinic -- we are not charging anything extra, because we want Florida to get more directors! This is a clinic at cost. The cost is $75. If you attend the clinic, you can fence a weapon the next day for only $5! Email me and I will sign you up for your weapon once the prepayment is made for the clinic.
Lunch will be provided. Bring pen/paper for notes, and anything else you feel you might need for the day.
The clinic will be followed by a tournament the next day, allowing for observation of skills and evaluation.
