The Jan Stephenson “Crossroads” Foundation is preparing a major fundraiser at the Lakeland Center, “Youkey” Theater on November 01, 2013.
It will be a concert featuring: Jimi Jamison, Mike Reno and Bobby Kimball all backed by Tampa Bay’s own Stormbringer Band.
Jan Stephenson and Jimi Jamison have formed “Jan Stephenson’s Crossroads Foundation” to benefit a variety of charities. Jan Stephenson’s Crossroads Foundation, Inc. is dedicated to assisting those in need who are at a “Crossroads” in their lives.
Jimi and Jan have dedicated the proceeds from this event to the homeless, disabled veterans and needy children:
- The Rope Center – Pastor, Jim Campbell is the 66-year-old pastor of the Prayer House and opened the ROPE Center in Hudson, Florida a transitional housing facility for people down on their luck in 2007. The Rope Center provides temporary housing and job training for homeless individuals and families. Once they are trained, they are provided job opportunities. Everyone has jobs to do, and if they don't do at least eight hours of chores a week, they can't stay. Everyone is subject to background checks to make sure there are no sex offenders or felons. They have a zero-tolerance policy: no weapons, no drinking and no drugs. The Rope Center is a model for assisting the homeless. Web site: http://www.shelterlistings.org/details/31044/
- Sand Soldiers of America - Sand Soldiers of America is a resource organization offering veterans, active military and military family’s important information needed to move them forward into the world. They offer a place to share stories, photos, videos and information. They are a non-profit organization funded by community members and events — and run by an all-volunteer staff. They offer help — when help is needed most — to those who have given so much. Sand Soldiers of America is a nonprofit organization established as a veteran’s resource group. Although primarily formed to serve our new veterans, they will never say no to any veteran. They ask other veteran organizations, businesses, medical care facilities, specialized services organizations, employers and our community to unite with our available resources. Let us stand together with one focus; to meet the needs of the men, women and family who have fought and sacrificed for our freedom. Sand Soldiers of America honors and recognizes veterans, active military and families through parades, tributes, dinners and community events. Web site: http://sandsoldiersofamerica.org/
Florida Sheriff’s Youth Ranch - The Mission of the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches is to prevent delinquency and develop strong, lawful, resilient, and productive citizens who will make a positive contribution to our communities for years to come. Diane Vandiver recently used part of this donation money to secure 400 pairs of shoes for children who otherwise did not have shoes. Web site: https://www.youthranches.org/
