Blues legend Buddy Guy and blues guitar phenom Jonny Lang will be appearing at Ruth Eckerd Hall on Tuesday, November 19th!
Blues legend and six-time GRAMMY® winner Buddy Guy and GRAMMY® winner Jonny Lang have announced a co-headline tour in support of their individual album releases scheduled for this year. The tour makes an exclusive stop at Ruth Eckerd Hall on Tuesday, November 19th at 7:30 p.m. Tickets go on sale this Saturday, June 29th at noon. This will be Buddy’s first return to Ruth Eckerd Hall since his sold-out concert with B.B. King in 2010. Jonny last performed at Ruth Eckerd Hall with the sold-out Experience Hendrix tour in 2012.
Six-time GRAMMY® Award winner and 2012 Kennedy Center Honoree Buddy Guy will release his new studio album Rhythm & Blues (RCA Records) on July 30th. The follow-up to his 2010 GRAMMY® Award-winning album Living Proof, this double-disc masterpiece features first time studio collaborations with A-list artists Kid Rock, Keith Urban, Gary Clark, Jr., Beth Hart and Aerosmith members Steven Tyler, Joe Perry and Brad Whitford. Produced by GRAMMY® Award-winning producer/songwriter and longtime collaborator Tom Hambridge, Rhythm & Blues captures the 76-year-young Guy at the peak of his creativity. Replete with heartfelt vocals, straightforward lyrics and mesmerizing guitar licks, Rhythm & Blues not only exemplifies how blues continues to be the foundation of all genres of today’s music, it also illustrates why Guy has been influential in the careers of Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Stevie Ray Vaughan and more.
Sixteen years ago, at the age of 16, Jonny Lang found incredible success with the release of his major label debut album Lie To Me. Fame does not seem to have impacted him from being the same country farm boy from Fargo, ND who got his start in the local clubs of Minneapolis. He survived the passage of youth to adulthood, fell in love, began a family, and in the process passed through the life lessons we all endure. He has a keen sense of what he aims to achieve creatively, what music means to him, and is focused on the impact his songs bring to the lives of those who encounter his repertoire. For Lang, with the release of Fight For My Soul (due out on Jonny’s label SayRai Music this fall), Jonny is entering a chapter wherein he has found his true voice.
