Greater New Port Richey Main Street announces the 14th Annual Cotee River Seafood & Blues Festival, a weekend long event in Sims Park!
Greater New Port Richey Main Street announces the 14th 2013 Cotee River Seafood & Blues Festival sponsored by Bright House Networks & Bay News 9, thi is a weekend long event in Sims Park.
The event will offer a wide variety of quality seafood, blues music, boat and watercraft show and activities for the entire family. The setting on the banks of the Cotee River only serves to enhance the combination of seafood and music in the park.
A boat and watercraft show will be located around Orange Lake and on the Cotee River, including kayak demonstrations and other outdoor sporting activities for the entire family. Local fishing captains will be offering tips and demonstrations throughout the weekend. Scheduled times will be available on the main street website in the coming weeks.
The Blues Festival will feature local bands, national recording artists and student musicians. The music begins Friday on the Volkswagen of New Port Richey stage at 5pm with one of the 4 winners of the 2013 Fresh Catch Talent Search sponsored by Cocktails of New Port Richey and music students from Music Matters Rock School. The Charlie Morris Band will start off the evening’s entertainment with headliner the Michael Allman Band taking the stage at 9pm. Saturday's blues begin at 1p with more Fresh Catch talent search winners, Music Matters Rock School and the blues sound from the Straight Up Blues Band. This year’s Saturday evening entertainment offers a combination of one of the hottest bands on the Bay Area blues scene today. The Betty Fox Blues Band will take to the stage at 7p. Followed by two local blues legends, Willy Lomax and Sean Brown. Sunday the music continues with Fresh Catch winners and student musicians from Music Matters' Rock School. Closing out the weekend entertainment is a local favorite Sarasota Slim.
Other highlights of the weekend include The Mermaids of Weeki Wachee, an arts & crafts show featuring artists and crafters from all over the southeast, a classic car cruise in, face painting and bounce houses for the little ones. Pasco Camera will sponsor a photo exhibit as well as a photo contest. For more information contact Pasco Camera. In addition the Fresh Friday Night Farmer’s Market will be a part of the festivities when they set-up on Grand Boulevard between Circle Blvd and Main Street.
Greater New Port Richey Main Street is a 501-c-3 not-for-profit. The mission of Main Street is to encourage and assist private and public entities in the revitalization and beautification of the downtown.
