History Center Offers Archaeology Adventure CampA new spring break camp at the Tampa Bay History Center explores Florida’s pre-historic past(Tampa) – Become a junior archaeologist and dig in to Florida’s past during the Tampa Bay History Center’s Spring Break Camp, Archaeology Adventure, March 11-15. Children ages 7 – 11 will work with experts from the Florida Public Archaeology Network during the week-long camp, where they’ll learn about underwater archaeology techniques and learn how to dig up clues about what life was like for Florida’s first people. Campers will explore the History Center’s galleries, make pottery, study paleo-indian hunting tools, and participate in outdoor activities as they learn about a time when giant sloths and saber-toothed tigers roamed free.Space for the History Center’s spring break camp is limited and pre-registration is required. Cost is $175 for the week. Members of the History Center receive a $25 discount.
