Description:
Qigong (Chi-kung), meaning breathing energy, is a traditional Chinese healing method and is widely practiced by Chinese people and professionals. Dr. Charles Beaupre, who teaches in the Asian Studies Program and is the Confucius Institute Director at St. Mary's University, will discuss his practice and research of Qigong. For many years Dr. Beaupre has been investigating the subtle interrelationship of body, mind and spirit. He has pursued this line of study in many East Asia settings, focusing on subtle energy enhancement. The talk will include an introduction of Qigong, as well as research and practice of this healing tradition. The lecture is co-sponsored by the College of Public Health.
