This is not just another rap show, but rather the next step in the evolution of Hip Hop events. Rather than relying on promoters or so-called tastemakers to deem them worthy, A2BAY is fueled and funded by the artists themselves. Joe Stu, Imagiin360 and Infinite Skillz lead this enterprising group that aims to create a pipeline between Atlanta and the Tampa Bay area. “We all make music, have complimentary skill sets and are motivated to make this happen.” said Infinite Skillz. “I went to school in Atlanta and I live here in the Tampa Bay area so I feel like this was a logical move. Plus the first part is on my birthday so you know it’s on!” A2BAY will connect these two Hip Hop hotbeds and shed light on the emerging talent these areas have to offer. It provides unencumbered space for fans throughout the Southeast, one of the most fertile Hip Hop regions, to gain greater access to the music powering this entrepreneurial movement. Joining the organizers on this Creative Loafing sponsored bill are Atlanta’s Shred TVT, BIGREC, and Sham Tha Insomniac who also has ties to both areas. The Tampa Bay area contingent is rounded out by White Roux and the Paper Plane Gang, Hagan Lee, Waystid Talent. Spindiana Jones will host with music by DJ Carl Spinslow, Da Beav, and DJ Fader. The second part of the A2BAY concert series will be held in Atlanta later this year and will feature many of the same artists. A2BAY hopes to erect a bridge between these two proving grounds...all the way from the A to the Bay.
